I`m looking for songs that ahve a story in the lyrics, like Taylor Swifts Mary's Song. Id prefer recent artists, so no Elvis please.

Well OK so not a recent artist but if your looking for a story "Hurricane" by Bob Dylan is incredible. Its based on a real life boxer who was wrongly convicted of murder and put into jail. Rubin Carter. Bob Dylan tell the story and speaks of the injustice throughout.



Also "Lonesome Death of Hattie Carol" by Bob Dylan tells the story of a Black woman who was a kitchen maid at a rich guys house who dies from a racist mans blow to her head with a cane. Amazing song.



Theres so many stories in Bob Dylans work and i would recommend it. Just try it out anyway.

It's about how he takes his girlfriend to get an abortion which he is totally against, but then she gets sick and he has to tell her parents when she is admitteed to hospital then she dies because of complications, its a real soft song that makes you cry
