Question:
The Beatles - Octopus's garden?

Is there major sexual innuendo in this song, or is do I just have a dirty mind?

Particularly lines like.....

"I'd like to be, under the sea
In an octopus' garden in the shade"

"Resting our head, on the sea bed"

Well... pretty much every line, really!

So is this supposed to be this way... or is it just me.... I feel like it's either blatantly obvious sexual innuendo, or else I'm just really dirty minded. LOL. I'd like to know.

what the above poster said is right, those are the origins, but that doesn't mean it still isn't a sexual innuendo. their songs are pretty much all innuendos, i mean, look at yellow submarine. "So we sailed on to the sun, till we found the sea green" "As we live a life of ease, every one of us, has all we need, sky of blue, and sea green". i mean really, is that really about submarines?? LOL, it's obviously about smoking pot.

so just because the ORIGINS are one thing, doesn't mean the song 100% reflects those origins. i can't tell you for sure it's a sexual innuendo, but it's definitely possible.

I must be really dumb. I listened to the Beatles back then and never picked up any sexual innuendo in any of their songs. I don't see any in Octopuses Garden. Most of those strange songs came off of their Magical Mystery Tour album when they were experimenting with LSD.

"Fellow Beatle George Harrison commented: " 'Octopus's backyard' is Ringo's track. that's purely the 2d track Ringo has ever written, techniques you, and that's stunning." Harrison further that the track gets very deep into your expertise "because of the fact it is so non violent. i assume Ringo is writing cosmic songs these days with out even understanding it"....interior the Beatles' action picture enable that's, Starr is shown rehearsing the track on piano, joined by means of Harrison, who assists him with the "we would be, so happy you and me..." ingredient to the track. Starr won sole writing credit even with this."

The beatles put a lot of sexual innuendo into their songs. I never heard it for this song before, but I guess it could be. Penny Lane is full of sexual innuendo.

It's all in your mind. The song as written by Ringo after being told about the peaceful way octopus live.
